Active Pain Management is a supervised hydrotherapy group designed for people living with persistent pain who want ongoing support to stay active, build confidence, and continue applying the strategies they've learned.

Whether you've completed the Living Well with Persistent Pain Program or are looking for a supportive exercise environment to help manage ongoing pain, this group can help you stay on track with your goals.

All participants are welcome to join following an initial assessment with one of our clinicians to ensure the program is suitable for your individual needs.

Who Is This Group For?

This group is ideal for people who:

  • Have completed the Living Well with Persistent Pain Program and would like ongoing support.
  • Live with persistent or chronic pain and want to improve their function and quality of life.
  • Find it difficult to stay active due to pain flare-ups or fear of worsening symptoms.
  • Are looking for a safe, supportive and supervised exercise environment.
  • Want to maintain the progress they've made and continue building confidence with movement.

What to Expect

Sessions are conducted in a warm hydrotherapy pool, providing a comfortable and supportive environment for exercise. The program focuses on:

Gentle strengthening exercises.
Mobility and flexibility work.
Functional movement activities.
Building confidence in movement.
Ongoing self-management strategies for persistent pain.

  12. How the environment can increase your pain response.
Getting Started

An initial assessment is required before joining the group.

Participants who have completed the Living Well with Persistent Pain Program are encouraged to continue their progress through Active Pain Management. Referrals from the program are welcome, however you do not need to have completed the Living Well with Persistent Pain Program to participate.
